A Taste of Sustainability : Fresh, Organic Produce at Royal River Hotel

At the Royal River Hotel, we believe in nurturing both our guests and our planet. That's why we're thrilled to share our unique approach to sustainability, turning what was once waste into a thriving, organic farm! During recent room renovations, instead of sending discarded bathtubs and sinks to the landfill, we repurposed them into innovative planters. These unconventional containers are now home to a vibrant array of organic salad greens and herbs. What truly makes our farm special is the soil. We create our own rich, nutrient-dense soil right here on-site, using compost derived from the hotel's food waste. This closed-loop system allows us to transform kitchen scraps into valuable fertilizer, reducing our environmental footprint and enriching the very earth that nourishes our produce. The best part? The fresh, flavorful vegetables and herbs harvested from our organic farm are proudly incorporated into the dishes we serve to our guests. This not only ensures the freshest ingredients for your dining experience but also helps us reduce our reliance on external suppliers, contributing to a more sustainable and cost-effective operation. We're passionate about making a positive impact, and our organic farm is just one way we're cultivating a greener future. We invite you to taste the difference our commitment to sustainability makes during your stay at the Royal River Hotel!

From Kitchen to Garden

From Kitchen to Garden

At the Royal River Hotel, we believe true luxury isn't just about comfort; it's about caring for our environment. This is why we prioritize sustainability through our Zero Food Waste initiative, transforming kitchen leftovers into valuable resources, helping reduce waste, and nurturing our planet simultaneously.

Each day, our restaurant offers a diverse and delectable menu. Instead of letting leftover food end up in the trash, we utilize advanced food digesters. These machines process the remnants into nutrient-rich liquid and dry compost, which we then use to nourish the plants and gardens within the hotel premises.

Even rice water, which is typically discarded, is given a new purpose. We collect and ferment it into a natural bio-fertilizer, used to water the salad greens and organic vegetables we cultivate on-site. This ensures our produce grows safely and in an environmentally friendly manner.

After breakfast, even eggshells aren't overlooked. We wash, dry, and grind them into a powder before mixing them with organic fertilizer. This enriches the soil with minerals, further strengthening our plants.

All of these are part of the small, daily efforts we make to provide our guests with a comfortable and meaningful stay. The Royal River Hotel doesn't just offer an impressive hospitality experience; it's also a place that promotes an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

We invite you to experience it for yourself and discover that "sustainability" can start with the small things around us.
